BLUE ROCK THRUSH
Seen on an old demolished building near the stork nests below. This fairly common bird in Andalucia is a Blue Rock Thrush (Monticola solitarius),
and a widespread resident in Europe and Middle East.

THE RETURN OF THE STORKS
Before each Spring Cordoba sees the return of the White Storks to refurbish their nests and brood. The nests are built high up to minimise disturbance and they use all kinds of structures, some man made, some made by the Storks. The recent storms don't seem to have caused too many problems for these lovely birds.
They look majestic as they whirl and swoop over the A431 on the western outskirts of Cordoba.

IBERIAN LYNX
Reintroduced wild in Spain in the Sierra Morena about 40 kms from where I currently live - still waiting to 'capture' my first one in the wild.
