I took this photo of a beautiful resting butterfly last summer and couldn't help wondering why it is that mankind is so destructive towards other species and the wider environment. Do we have a death wish on all life (including our own) or are we so selfish that we just do not think about the effect we are having on other species and, indeed, the planet and its ecology. Please think about this butterfly when you next drive your car, put weedkiller on your flowerbeds, throwaway the rubbish that could be recycled - or not even bought in the first place etc. etc. Every little helps Mother Nature! Posted by Picasa
