DUE TO THE BLACKMAIL EMPLOYED BY THE JAPANESE AT THE RECENT IWC VOTE ON THE RESUMPTION OF COMMERCIAL WHALING. I ASK YOU TO JOIN WITH ME IN BOYCOTTING ALL PRODUCTS FROM THESE COUNTRIES. CONTRARY TO WHAT THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN SAYING: FACT: JAPANESE PEOPLE ARE NOT PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN EATING WHALEMEAT - IN FACT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF TONS ROTTING AWAY IN WAREHOUSES THAT CANNOT BE SOLD DUE TO LACK OF DEMAND.THEY ARE NOW FORCED TO DISPOSE OF IT AS DOG TREATS. FACT: WHALES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DECIMATING THE OCEANS FISH STOCKS. THE SCIENTIFIC EQUIVALENT WOULD BE THAT WOODPECKERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR DEFORESTATION. CLEARLY A NONSENSE!

This is the Greenpeace flagship RAINBOW WARRIOR sailing in the Tasman sea in 2005. Over 20 years since the original Warrior was sunk in a New Zealand harbour by French secret service agents, Greenpeace continues to sail the oceans of the world in a small flotilla of ships ready to defend the oceans against whalers, polluters, pirates, nuclear testers etc. In other words, protecting the natural marine environment from its worst enemy...MAN ....who is also its best friend. Which of the two are you.....an enemy or friend of the Sea? Maybe you think living in a landlocked country absolves you from any responsibility? But you eat and use products that are transported across oceans, caught in oceans and come from oceans.....so we are all responsible......If you want to do something - why not join GREENPEACE and become an Ocean Defender!

I became a member of Greenpeace and an activist in the 80's and have been writing letters/emails/signing petitions and spreading the word of environmental protection ever since. Not much of a contribution I admit....but better than doing nothing and in 2006, around 30 years since the idea of Greenpeace first came about - the organisation has had many successes against the polluters of the world - ranging from pirate ships to governments. Still preferring to back up words with direct non-violent actions around the world.

PAUSE FOR THOUGHT

I took this photo of a beautiful resting butterfly last summer and couldn't help wondering why it is that mankind is so destructive towards other species and the wider environment. Do we have a death wish on all life (including our own) or are we so selfish that we just do not think about the effect we are having on other species and, indeed, the planet and its ecology. Please think about this butterfly when you next drive your car, put weedkiller on your flowerbeds, throwaway the rubbish that could be recycled - or not even bought in the first place etc. etc. Every little helps Mother Nature!

IN AN ATTEMPT TO PUT AN END TO THE BARBARIC HUNTING OF FOXES WITH DOGS. THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT BANNED THE PRACTICE FROM 2005. UNFORTUNATELY NOT ALL THE HUNTS HAVE ABIDED BY THE NEW LAWS AND IT IS LEFT TO ACTIVISTS FROM THE HUNT SABOTEURS ASSOCIATION TO CONTINUE TO PROTECT THE FOX IN ITS NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.

AS WE ENTER THE NEW YEAR, WE CAN BUT WONDER WHAT'S IN STORE FOR THE WORLD AND WHO ISLAMIC TERRORISTS WILL CALLOUSLY MURDER NEXT....... POLITICIANS/CHILDREN/MUSLIMS/COMMUTERS/BABIES WITH THEIR MOTHERS - ALL THIS IN THE NAME OF A 'GOD' ???? IT IS NOT FAITH , ABSOLUTE MADNESS IS WHAT IT IS!
